How to edit a vintage effect on photos using adobe photoshop
- As usual, the first step to do is to open the file or do drag and drop photos to be edited into photosop. In this tutorial i am using Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1
- Once the file is open, click on the image> adjustment> curve and change the settings so that images appear lighter.
- The next step is to create a new layer by clicking the new layer in the bottom right corner of photoshop.
- Once the new layer appears, point the mouse toward the gradient tool, then right-click on the gradient tool will display a new box, and select the paint bucket tool.
- The next step you should do is to choose a color for the layer, point the mouse toward the foreground color set and define the colors as shown in the figure below:
- Then click on the photo you will be covered by the color.
- Then, slide the layer opacity to 30. Then right click on the layer to set the blending option to overlay and then click ok to bring the image back.
- Create a new layer again, repeat steps 3-7 but this time change the color to white.
- Then set the opacity to taste, in this tutorial sya turn it into 7. Then change the blending option to overlay. Then the picture will re-appear. In the picture still looks vintage effect desired. For that, you have to create a new layer again as described previously but this time change the color to blue. After that set the opacity to taste at this tutorial sya made to 24. Then set the blending optionmenjadi exclusion, as shown below.
